Default YRC's Future. . .your take

YRC Worldwide released second quarter results for 2009 which one analyst described as "abysmal." Chairman, president and CEO Bill Zollars repeated his position that the company has a strong plan for recovery which it is executing well.

What are your views? Is YRCW executing well on its promise to improve service?

The last 3 times I used their "express" service they failed me. I'll never use them again...bye, bye YRC.

Default Like watching the titanic

Every Month it seems like there is another surprise from YRWC.
They keep saying they have a plan.
They are running out of assets to sell.
They rearrange the chairs on the deck of the sinking ship and yell to the passengers "don't panic, we are just stopping to take on some ice"
It appears to the outside observer that its not a matter of if the ship will sink, but when.
Will we have another Labor Day surprise like we had with CF and come in on the Tuesday after the holiday to find that our freight is locked up in their terminals and ther are no employees to get it out for us?
It's frightening to watch. It's just like the year of denials from DHL that they were not exting the US domestic Express market and then they did.
Let the buyer beware. Make sure your freight and your customers are protected. In this economy you don't want to be looking for a new job.

Default Yrc

YRC is burning through cash. They have money coming in as a refund from the IRS so that may carry them through the third quarter. They have money that is due for things like pension funding that will have to be handled. It's anyones guess if they are moving into a new era of prosperity and success. I see no miracle on the horizon thats going to create an economic upturn. My tummy tell me the opposite. YRC has dodged so many pullets that they have to be given credit for tenacity but they have a long way to go to restore then to what anyone would call "healthy". Just one man's opinion, I could be wrong. The concern of shippers is another CF. The fear that one day they will come to work to find their freight is padlocked in some yard and having do deal withe the courts to get their property back. There is still so much overcapacity and such a dog fight with pricing for shipments that this is also going to be a tremendous headwind for YRC who at least on the conference calls speaks of maintaining pricing integrity.
